The John Templeton Foundation provides support for research and the dissemination of research in a variety of areas. Typically, projects involving research and dissemination do so in the context of different, specific Big Questions that lie within and at the intersection of multiple disciplines. More specifically, the Foundation supports work that seeks to uncover the fundamental nature of reality, including work in physics, biology, philosophy, theology, mathematics, and the social and human sciences. In addition, the Foundation supports research and programs in areas such as Freedom and Free Enterprise, Genetics, and the discovery and nurturing of Exceptional Cognitive Talent and Creativity.

The Program Associate will support grant administration and the development of new funding initiatives for the Human Sciences and for the Freedom and Free Enterprise departments.

The Program Associate will have a key role in the full life cycle of the grant-making process, including the review of online funding inquiries and invited full proposals, as well as tracking grantee progress.

The Program Associate will also be expected to help manage departmental correspondence, budgets and logistics and to conduct independent research projects in support of new strategic funding initiatives in both departments, as assigned.

In addition, the Program Associate will support the EVP, Programs by managing his calendar, travel planning, expense reporting and communication to program areas and other divisions.

The ideal candidate for this role will have excellent organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and written and oral communication skills with attention to detail. Technical skills must include demonstrated competence in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, as well as a working knowledge of online research tools. A bachelor's degree is required; however, a master's degree or higher in economics, political science or a related field is strongly preferred.
